Last class was a great “tool” that helps with school and organization. I have to say that I always thought that the way to organize websites was through “favorites” and now I know a better way. This is neat because it really is a tool that can help any teacher when it comes to planning and researching. I am a person that is big on organization and I am happy that I can now organize over the Internet on the computer, rather tan writing down and booking websites that may switch or close down. Then there is the idea of networking with other teachers to share and teach new ideas in the classroom. This is a great tool to teach through out the world and even introduce students to a new idea that the lesson that they are learning was actually taught across the world at some point. Working technology into the classroom can work to teach students how to use these tools and make them more of a normal occurrence rather than working a project around it! This way students use the internet and programs like these to help organize themselves and their work all the time…rather than waiting for a project that requires it to learn a tool that could have helped them when they were in high school….like me….=)

I could not agree more, what a great way to organize, not only your lesson plans, but also the chaotic use of the internet. Currently, I work at a school for students with various types of learning disabilities. One of the biggest worries that I and other teachers have is the poor organizational skills that these students have. They currently walk around the school with these 20 pound book bags stuffed so full that they can’t zip the bag up. Inside the bag it looks like a tornado just hit their bedroom. There are no folders for organization, just papers from multiple classes. So when asked to find last nignts’ Biology homework it take 5-10 minutes just to find something that might resemble that homework assignment. By being able to setup this information on the computer for both organization and for possibly doing it, that takes 90% of those papers out of the students book bag. It also allows the homework to remain organized online and compiled in one spot for easy access when it comes time to study for a test. And the biggest part, it know allows 10 more minutes of class to be structured around teaching and learning content as opposed to looking for a misplaced homework assignment. One last thing, it allows parents to find out what is actually going on in the classroom and what is due without having the student show them their daily planner that they don’t write in anyways.
